F.Y.I. - Matter-Antimater propulsion works becuase if you have an atom of matter and an equivilent amount of anti-matter, when they come into contact they destroy each other creating mass amounts of energy.  This energy is cunducted to the dylithium crystals to create a warp bubble making faster than light speed possible (the engines are fueled by a fusion core).  Yes, you could make a powerful weapon from this, but that's what a photon torpedo is :-)
